When a house is a home, its door opens wide,
Its rooms offer comfort and safety and rest.
It shields from bad weather, has means to ease hunger,
And welcomes its members and often a guest.
Its windows can open, admitting a breeze.
Its halls are convenient, its closets can store.
Its bedrooms provide for a personal time.
Its living room gives to the family a core,
Where listening and talking and reading and games
Knit parents and children together to find
That the sofa, the lamps, the pictures, and books
Result in a harmony when they´re combined.
A house is made of solid things.
A home is where the spirit sings.
